Social Media Obsession killing real life relationships

Recently news came in the highlight when a model dumped her boyfriend because she was afraid that she will lose her followers on Instagram if she posts pics with her boyfriend on her account. So, when her boyfriend asked her to update their picture on Instagram she dumped him.

This incident shows that Social media sites are affecting people’s relationships very badly. In the beginning, internet sites had been designed to act as a tool for bringing people together. Nevertheless, in fact, everything ended up the opposite method. Personal media ruins relationships everywhere, therefore the good explanation is very apparent. Relationships start to falter at that moment when interaction stops. Obsession with internet sites literally destroys interaction between people.

Have you ever realized how much time you’ve spent on social media? How many countless hours, minutes and seconds you’ve spent checking your story on Snapchat and scrolling feeds on Instagram?

When you go out to dinner and look around the room, i can guarantee that at least 60 percent of the people sitting around you are on their phones or have them sitting in arms reach. How sad is it to see such a shocking number?
Social media has played a big part in our lives. Is it positive or negative? We have heard a lot about romantic rendezvous through social media which many of them end in marriage. It is a pleasant fact indeed.

Too much of anything is good for nothing. As the proverb said, an excessiveness can lead to something bad. Just like social media, excessive usage can badly affect relationships.

“There is a real-world outside that la la land….we have to remember this”.

A difficulty to avoid social media can make you fail to notice your surroundings, including your partner. A moment that should have been spent together is replaced by each of you scrolling down the social media's pages. No wonder it often triggers a conflict.

Social media has the ability to make relationships both easier and more difficult. It can connect us when we are far away, or it can hinder our ability to focus on what truly matters in the relationship. Bottom line, don’t let a third party ruin your relationship

What should be done

Keep your phone on silent when you go for dinner or lunch with your family or partner.
Take a break from your phone at least twice a month.
Don’t use your phone unnecessarily when with your family or friends..only use when there’s something urgent.

Family and Relationships are the most important thing in the world. ...

No amount of money or success can take the place of time spent with your family and friends. ...Love them. Spend time with them, be kind & serve one another. Make no room for regrets. Because time never comes back.
