1. Few words about yourself?

An IT engineer and an MBA graduate from IIM Calcutta, I left my cushy corporate job of 9 years to follow my dreams. My passion for portrait photography blossomed as I became a mother to a beautiful boy. While capturing his tiny toes and fingers, I found my calling.

2. How would you describe your style of photography?

As a natural light photographer I feel that shooting outdoors or with natural light makes my subjects relax and lets their personality shine through, versus an intimidating and unnatural indoor setup. I specialize in portraiture because I feel one of my key strengths lies in interacting with people and capturing their natural emotions and expressions through my imagery.

I want honest responses and lots of emotion. My favorite photos are always the true ones; the ones that make you smile when you look at them, or maybe cry a tear or two. I have exactly one rigid non negotiable rule for myself as a photographer: I don’t shoot fake smiles. Period. It is my job to make you feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera. And, I PROMISE YOU – Not only will you walk away with some great images, but also some wonderful memories, of a lovely day spent with the people you LOVE MOST.
I specialize in baby, kids, maternity & family photography. I also do natural light, lifestyle photography for couples.

3. How you manage to get it clicked perfectly with the mood

I spend a lot of time and energy getting to know my clients. You can see clients visibly relax as the shoot progresses. I use humor to lighten the mood and have come up with some ingenious prompts to get some candid , authentic shots.

4. Any final thoughts for our readers who are a newcomer in this field.?

You don't need an official degree course to be a good photographer. There are a lot of free resources online to benefit from. Just take out your camera and practice , practice , practice. Notice the kind of pictures you are drawn to. If you want to go for paid courses, take specialized training courses from photographers you truly admire. At the end of the day try to create your own style. Be true to yourself.
